Footnote :- I had problems finding Rosina's birth details until I found her registered under surname Curless in the December quarter of 1862. In the 1881 census, see attachment (A 019), she is shown as being twenty years of age. If you look at her marriage certificate you will see that her youngest brother Alfred Charles was a witness, as too was an Ellen Maria Milligan. This person Ellen was, I believe an elder sister of William Albert Milligan who had married one of Rosina's younger sisters, Amelia Mary. In 1881, Rosina and Ellen were both in domestic service, which I guess is where they might have met.

As Rosina was the eldest of William and Ellen children, it is my guess that she took on the task of looking after her parents in their later years and only married after their deaths. The 1901 census shows her living with her parents and her two youngest brothers Walter John and Alfred Charles at 96 Colomb St, Greenwich. It is also possible that Rosina's husband James was related to Sarah Rose Stanford the first wife of her brother Walter John, as they both had a Cambridgeshire connection and an exchange of information with someone doing some research into the Stanford family confirmed this theory.
