Footnote :- I know very little about Rose, so I do not know how she came to be known as Kitty. Maybe there was another Rose Mallendine / Millendane in the family and she was called Kitty to avoid confusion. Edward Millendane was Christened as Teddy Mallendine. There is also confusion to which of the surnames is correct. I guess it is like the Curniss / Curness situation where we finally settled on Curness. My guess is that they settled on Mallendine, as the children of both Rose and her sister Ann who married Edward's brother William Henry have their surnames spelt that way.
